State Treasurer Dan Rutherford Seeking Nominations for Advisory Councils

Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is seeking statewide nominations for advisory councils to assist in policy decisions that affect millions of Illinois residents. This diverse group of volunteers will be organized to cover five key areas of importance:
Advisory Council on Job Creation
The mission of the council will be to facilitate the creation and preservation of jobs in Illinois. The council will advise on the improvement and strengthening of the treasurer’s linked deposit investment programs that are designed to facilitate job creation and business expansion. The council will be tasked with establishing policies that protect and maintain the resulting jobs. Our goal is to enhance and sustain a gainfully-employed Illinois.
Advisory Council on Financial Education and Literacy
The mission of the council will be to form new relationships and maintain existing relationships with individuals, groups, organizations, and units of government so current and future educational programs can be delivered to serve and benefit their respective audiences in the most efficient manner.
Advisory Council on Military and Veteran Affairs
The mission of the council will be to serve as a committee made up of active and reserve military personnel, veterans, their dependents, and other interested parties to advise on the expansion and promotion of the various programs within the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office that were created for the benefit of veterans, military personnel, and their immediate family members.
Advisory Council on Local Government
The mission of the council will be to effectively engage local governing offices and build awareness of the treasurer’s programs with local constituents by developing closer cooperation between the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office and local government. The council will offer insight on ways to partner with municipalities to improve the distribution of programs to the general public.
Advisory Council on Agriculture
The mission of the council will be to identify key financial needs of farmers and agricultural professionals throughout the state. The objective will be to reach out to those in various agricultural fields and cultivate beneficial funding programs between these people and the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office.
