Dan Rutherford is one of the most known and valued state senators; he worked in the House of Representatives, and then was elected into the Senate in 2002. He was the author of the legislative reforms that changed the way nursing homes are reimbursed for their services. Moreover, Rutherford is very much involved with agriculture in Illinois. He cares about the environment. This is evident in the reforestation labors within his property, and thus in his understanding of the importance of preserving our surroundings.
Most importantly, Rutherford knows the importance of financial responsibility. The current situation surrounding our state - that being its fiscal status - is an issue that requires much attention and thought.
The truth is that we are on the verge of economic failure. According to The Wall Street Journal, Illinois is one of the states that is threatened with immediate bankruptcy. Faced with such circumstances, it is essential for the state government to be responsible with our money. Dan Rutherford’s experience shows he possesses that quality, and that he is the right man for the position.
There is more to Dan Rutherford than just politics. His scope of interest extends much further. He has a desire to explore; he is a passionate sailor and a multiple time participant of the Chicago to Mackinac Island race regatta; he is a certified diver, and he also spent several months in Africa.
After college, Rutherford embarked on his political career working as an Executive Director for the 1980 Presidential Campaign of Ronald Reagan. His experience in the Senate and the House of Representatives solidifies his true commitment to the people of Illinois and our posterity.
He has the educational background, the political experience, and the devotion to making a difference for the better.
All one needs to do is simply glance at these credentials and conclude that he is the most qualified candidate for the position of Illinois State Treasurer.

Dan Rutherford nie był politykiem, dla którego świat kończył się na drzwiach jego gabinetu. Jest zapalonym żeglarzem, wielokrotnym uczestnikiem regat z Chicago do Mackinaw. Odbył też kilkumiesięczną podróż do Afryki.
W polityce swoje doświadczenie zdobywał po ukończeniu studiów działając w kampanii wyborczej Ronalda Reagana. Ciekawość świata, jak i zdobyte już doświadczenie zarówno w stanowej Izbie Reprezentantów jak i Senacie potwierdzają, że jest on zdecydowanie najlepszym kandydatem na stanowisko skarbnika stanowego.
