SPRINGFIELD – September 11, 2011 – “Ten years ago today, the morning of September 11 changed our collective lives forever. As our state and our nation continue to heal, I offer these recognitions: To the many local police officers and firefighters, I thank you for your daily dedicated service.
To those who fight wars against terror at home and overseas, you are my heroes and my gratitude for your many sacrifices is endless. To the families who lost loved ones in the attacks, I continue to offer my deepest sympathies. And lastly, to the hundreds of Illinois military families who endure the unimaginable sorrow caused by death and permanent injury, I offer my humblest thanks and appreciation.”
